Sure snow can be pretty, and layered fashions are a highlight of any gal's wardrobe, but by the time February rolls around I am ready for a break! I love to travel but I don't always have the time to get away. So when I'm looking to break my winter slump I schedule a 'me' day!! 'Me' days are, well, all about me! I love fun, friends, great food, fashion and of course some relaxation.

For my last 'me' day I headed to Vaughan Mills. I started with a quick shopping trip... I can't go to Vaughan Mills and NOT SHOP... come on! I went to STYLESENSE to hunt for some wedge ankle booties (and found an amazing pair). I also picked up some adorable striped tops from XXI (I am crushing on all things striped right now).

After finding some great fashion buys I met my friends at Lucky Strike Lanes for a lively bowl-off! We treated ourselves to some yummy treats (the coconut shrimp are amazing!) and a glass of wine. I love Lucky Strike Lanes, it's a premium bowling alley, I've bowled at Lucky Strike in LA and even saw a few celebs there (B-list, but hey!).

After bowling I like to head to the spa. Did you know there is a Fiorio at Vaughan Mills? Maurice Fiorio is also on Cityline (same as me) and is a total hair and body guru. Just like his downtown locations, the Vaughan Mills Fiorio is an oasis-like retreat. I like to pop by for a mani-pedi and blow out. I wish every day was a 'me' day!

I love snow and even look forward to brisk walks outside... until about December 31st. By that point I'm over it and ready for spring. Sadly, Mother Nature doesn't really care about my preferred agenda, and February and March are typically two of the harshest months of the season. While hibernation is an option, it too gets old quickly. So Janette and I challenged each other to come up with fun indoor plans that didn't involve the typical dinner & movie combo.

Ever since she spotted it on Beverly Hills 90210, Janette has sung the praises of Lucky Strike Lanes and surprised me with a round (if I do say so myself, I was quite the competitor!). It was good times and the food is yummy!

Speaking of sweet treats, bowling was actually a bit of a workout so we headed over to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. OMG too many delicious goodies to choose from but I had to go with a classic candy apple dipped in sprinkles. It was as tasty as it was pretty.

We capped off the day with some pampering at Fiorio salon and spa. Manicures, pedicures and facials, oh my! My idea of a good time. There are so many fun things to do at Vaughan Mills, from Bass Pro to adventures at the Safari Pet Center, and even free entertainment during Sensational Saturdays, you just may forget why it is that you ever suffered from the winter blahs.

Oh P.S. – We have a really exciting contest coming up this spring! Be sure to tune in to our next episode for more details....
