When I was growing up (from about grade 6 onwards), I would spend the entire summer thinking about and putting together my new "back to school" look. This would involve a style inspiration board featuring clippings from my fave magazines (Teen, Sassy and Seventeen), a re-worked wardrobe with some great new buys and of course the all-essential new beauty kit used to create my fall look! 

Even now I still like to rework and tweak my look slightly over the summer. For example, this summer I grew out my brows for a slightly fuller look and picked up a new colour palette for my makeup kit. I think finding a fresh back-to-school beauty (or fall) look is most important of all. Fall is the perfect time to introduce a newer, fresher more gorgeous you!

Afiya and I had so much fun shooting our recent episode of Style Agents as we were joined by beauty blogger and guru, Janine Falcon of Beauty Geeks! Janine filled us in on her top beauty picks for fall and gave us a ton of insider tips. Ah back to school; it wasn't so long ago that I can't remember how excited I used to get planning my new outfits and looks for the new school year! And while I had my fashion picks down (of course there were flubs, but nobody could have talked me out of them and I enjoyed the process. Now I know that a silver lamé windbreaker should stay in a TLC video).

But makeup was an unfamiliar field. If only I knew Janine of Beauty Geeks back then, she probably would have helped me to avoid some not-so-pretty beauty blunders. Curly hair and bangs, picture it, yup as bad as it sounds.

But fortunately for you, she's shared her know-how for the hottest trends and tips of the season.

And while Janette and I were tapping our expert resources, we decided to swing by our friends at Best Buy Mobile, and according to them, the Samsung Galaxy S II is vivid, fast and slim and the hottest back-to-school phone this year. I'm not sure that I can give up my Blackberry but I certainly want to give this model a whirl.
